The Pembrokeshire fundraising effort for next year’s Royal Welsh Centenary Show focused on Narberth Rugby Club on Sunday, April 29, when a celebrity luncheon was followed by a keenly contested rugby match.

The event was organised by Seimon Thomas, the show's president-elect, and sponsored by Owen and Janet Phillips of G D Harries Construction.

Some 120 sat down for an excellent lunch and afterwards thoroughly enjoyed the high scoring rugby challenge which a Pembrokeshire team won by a narrow margin over Seimon’s ageing President’s XV.

An auction of some very interesting rugby memorabilia followed in the presence of ex-Welsh international players, John Davies and Dafydd Jones.

The organisers expressed their thanks to Narberth RFC for making all their facilities available.
