It is not too late to join the new Learn about Food from Farm to Fork course at WI House, Haverfordwest on Wednesday mornings from 10am to noon.

The aim of this STEP course is to learn about how food is produced locally and the processing techniques involved.

“This term, I am going to concentrate on dairy produce,” said course tutor, Jane Stubbs.

‘We have already had a most interesting and informative visit at the Fresh Produce Centre at Withybush Business Park, with more field visits and practical demonstrations being arranged over the next six weeks.”

The proprietor of the Fresh Produce Centre, Mark Hunter, gave a guided tour of the dairy processing plant describing in detail the whole process, starting with collecting the milk from local farmer Will Prichard, of Letterston, to pasteurising, bottling and distributing.

All Pembrokeshire College’s STEP courses offer nationally recognised qualifications and are provided free of charge at local community venues.
