Green-fingered schoolchildren in Milford Haven have been busy planting potatoes.
Class two pupils at Hubberston VC primary school were among the hundreds of children across the county taking part in the ‘grow your own potatoes’ project on Friday.
Pupils planted Maris Piper and Lady Christl seed potatoes, provided by Puffin Produce, along with all the equipment needed. The crop should be ready for harvesting in June. Teacher Mrs Morris said the project was vitally important.
“Children learn all about where vegetables come from and they get very excited as they see their crops grow.
“At the end of the project when the vegetables are harvested we cook with them,” she added.
