The best young Welsh public speakers in Pembrokeshire will now be rewarded with a new trophy, thanks to the latest winner’s grandparents.

Guto Harries, of Llysyfran YFC was named best speaker in the junior section of the Welsh language public speaking competition earlier this year, but there was no trophy to recognise his achievement.

However, his grandparents Bryn and Elfeira Harries have now stepped in and donated a cup to the county, which will be presented to the best speaker in the junior section every year.

Guto was presented with the new trophy by county chairman William Lawrence at a recent meeting of the county executive committee.
