Bevan strikes superb brace

Neyland 1

Hakin United 3

Ashley Bevan scored twice to earn leaders Hakin United a hardfought win at Neyland.

Gary Dawes’ Vikings did not have things all their own way as the Nomads put up a stiff rearguard.

The visitors led one-nothing at the break, thanks to Bevan scoring with a 25- yard pile driver on 25 minutes.

However, the Nomads squared matters on 55 minutes, when a mix-up in the back by the Vikings led to Wayne Parry equalising with a close range finish.

But the Vikings finished the stronger as Paul Jones was brought down in the box, and Steve Allen scored with the resulting penalty.

Ten minutes from full time and Bevan drilled in the third, to earn the unbeaten Vikings their sixth win of the season from eight games.
