MILFORD UNITED 1

MILFORD ATHLETIC 1

(Match abandoned on 50 minutes)

This derby game had to be abandoned after 50 minutes when referee Tony Picton suffered a groin injury and could not continue.

The score was level at one-goal apiece when Picton could not carry on, so in the best interest of everyone it was stopped at Marble Hall.

Up until the injury it was a pulsating end-to-end derby, with the Robins on top early on as Ashley Mathias latched onto a byline cross from Ryan Wilson who gave his side the lead on 18 minutes.

But Athletic settled and were rewarded when Shane Walsh equalised with a aplomb from 18 yards out, after being put through by a pinpoint through ball from Gary Power.

There was no further scoring as the Marble Hall pitch stood up well to the extremely wet conditions, but sadly, it could not be completed as Picton pulled up injured.

This derby clash will now have to be replayed at a later date during the course of the season.
