The sun was shining and the waves were pumping for Pembrokeshire Coast Surf Club Juniors who made the long trek to the British National Surf Championships at Newquay, Cornwall earlier this month.
Club juniors entered the under-12, under-14 and under-16 open competitions where they competed against the best junior British surfers.
The boys started the day surfing heats in unsettled conditions with inconsistent waves, narrowly missing a place in the semi finals.
By late afternoon, conditions had vastly improved, giving the club’s girls the opportunity to shine.
Sunday proved to be the best day with clean 6 - 8 foot waves and glorious sunshine setting the scene for the finals.
In the under-14 girls, Niamh Mathias of Ysgol y Preseli took first place with Bethan Lewis of Ysgol Bro Myrddin coming second.
Both girls were thrilled to have made their mark on the British junior scene.
