Hakin United 6

Pennar Robins 1

A Brilliant secondhalf display saw league leaders Hakin United score six goals in total at home to start 2013 off with a bang.

This result sees Gary Dawes’ Vikings stretch their lead at the top to nine points, and are the only team in the division to stay unbeaten during the campaign.

The hosts opened their goal scoring account on 15 minutes when some excellent work by man of the match James Stanmore setup Steve Mathias, who wasted little time in burying his edge of the area shot into the far corner.

But the visitors got back on level terms when a mixup in defence between Nathan Banner and keeper Stephen Hartley allowed veteran Dean Driscoll to sneak in a goal.

But the second half belonged to the Vikings and they killed off the match as a contest when they scored three superb goals in the space of ten minutes.

Justin Harding started the ball rolling, drilling home from inside the box for his side’s second.

Stanmore bagged the third with a delightful lob over stranded Michael Murray and Harding lashed home the fourth.

The Robins’ heads dropped and Ashley Bevan made no mistake with the fifth and Mathias completed the rout with the sixth, bringing up the Vikings’ 50th goal of the season.
