HAVERFORDWEST County bowed out of the Welsh Premier Word Cup at the first hurdle against Aberdare Town on Tuesday night.
Unbeaten in the league and despite starting brightly, the home side were rocked in the first half, conceding three unanswered goals in a mad 30 minute spell, which knocked Wayne Jones Bluebirds for six.
Last season the Bluebirds reached the quarter-final, but there was no repeat as the visitors striker Sam Small bagged a superb first-half hat-trick.
As a thick mist descended on the Bridge Meadow matters got far worse for the hosts as striker Jack Christopher was sent off, receiving a second yellow card from referee Brian James.
Young substitutes Ashley Curtis, Greg Walters and Liam Fawcett all enjoyed a run out in the second half, but on the night the visitors were good value for their win.
Haverfordwest County: Chris Curtis, Ricky Watts, Antonio Faccuito, Sam Roden, Dale Griffiths (Captain), Sean Pemberton, Steffan Williams, Jack Britton, Joe Leahy, Jack Christopher, Ritchie Lewis. Substitutes: Ashley Curtis, Greg Walters, Liam Fawcett, Owen Coombes.
