HAVERFORDWEST County AFC is providing a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to work within a progressive football club.

In partnership with National Award Winning Social Enterprise ‘Vi-Ability’ and funded through the WCVA intermediate Labour Market Scheme Phase II, a job opportunity is being created within the role of a ‘Sports Enterprise Worker’.

The Sports Enterprise Worker will help the club achieve the following outcomes: Increased membership and sport participation rates. Increased profile and media coverage of the club. Increased capacity (Volunteers/Staff). New income and revenue streams generated to support club development. Increased partnership working within the community to address social issues through sport. Increased activity on non-match days – club facilities utilised on non-match days and becoming ‘hub’ of the community.

The job is being targeted at a mature individual who is currently finding it particularly difficult to find employment and is keen to improve their general work-skills and confidence. The benefits include extra support and mentoring while on-the-job from football industry specialists.

Applicants must be: 50+ years old, currently unemployed, and a resident of the county of Pembrokeshire.

The successful individual selected to take part in the programme will be employed for an initial sixteen weeks, and expected to work 30 hours a week. They will be paid national minimum wage (relative to their age), but will also gain recognised qualifications such as a BTEC Level 2 in Football Industries; and have the chance to go on external work placements at professional clubs across the UK & Europe.
