THE winter league and stableford competition played last Saturday was postponed because of the expected gale force winds and heavy rain which had been forecasted; round eight of the winter league will be now be played this Saturday, with the final round to be played the following day on Sunday 9; the matchplay knock out stages which will commence on Saturday 22.
The February monthly medal will be sponsored by Alex Youds and played on Saturday 15; this medal competition will be a qualifier for points for the Brian Bebb Shield.
DESPITE the inclement weather five brave ladies played in the stableford competition last Tuesday, playing the full 18 holes. The five endured the very heavy showers in the morning at the start of their rounds with some sunny spells; they reached the safety of the clubhouse before the heavy afternoon showers, the weather conditions certainly reflected on the scores returned.
