ISABELLE Davies of Ysgol Bro Gwuan has taken part in the Welsh Triathlon National Talent Squad Camp.
The Year 10 pupil had wonderful time training with the squad and was especially inspired by Non Stanford who is the ITU Triathlon World Champion and comes from South Wales. Isabelle remarked that this was the most amazing camp yet. She said: “Non is such an inspiration and to swim alongside her at the Cardiff pool was a fantastic experience.”
Non is working towards the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July and she is currently based in Leeds training alongside the famous Brownlee brothers.
Isabelle has also attended the South Wales Regional Triathlon Squad Day and has spent four days on an intensive swimming programme with Pembrokeshire County Swimming Squad and a morning racing at the Welsh Winters in Swansea.
Isabelle is a very busy young girl who is thoroughly enjoying her triathlon activities. Everyone at the school wishes her all the best this year.
