Monkton Swifts 3
THREE goals in the opening 30 minutes by Monkton Swifts effectively killed off Johnston’s chances of getting anything from this league clash.
Wayne Brunton sprung the offside trap to score the opener in the seventh minute. Lee Brockway scored the second in the 14th minute with a delightful chip over Martin Langdon. Ben Adams added a third with an edge of the area low drive to stun the Tigers.
On the stroke of half-time Joe John headed in a Nicky Woodrow cross and in the 74th minute John pounced for his second, but the visitors’ shut up shop as the Tigers’ threatened fight-back was squashed.
