GARETH FAWCETT’S header five minutes from time earned Hakin United a slender one-goal victory over Pennar Robins at the Observatory.
Last week the Robins ground out a goalless draw with second placed Narberth at home, on Saturday, it looked as though Gavin Southcott and Dean Driscoll’s Pennar outfit were heading for the same result.
But Vikings central defender Gareth Fawcett up in attack, glanced his header against the bar and quickly followed up and made no mistake with a second header from the rebound.
It was a cruel blow for the visitors, but in all honesty, it was no more than what the reigning champions deserved as they were on top for long periods, but were guilty of missing a hatful of scoring opportunities.
