Hook (147 all out) lost to Llangwm (150 all out)

LLANGWM grabbed two wickets in the closing stages to give them a narrow win at neighbours Hook, despite having nine players unable to take part.

New captain Joe Kiff marked his first match at the helm with a good all round performance, starting with 31 runs alongside Will Beresford (23), Alistair Platten (24) and Chris Thomas (40) as Llangwm reached 150 all out despite useful bowling by Jamie Phelps (4 for 31), Tom Blaxland (3 for 14) and Matthew Holder (2 for 37).

Steady knocks from Jake Wicks (39), Phelps (17), Blaxland (29), Will Goronwy (15) and Matthew Rowlands kept Hook hopes alive against Alistair Platten (2 for 47), Joe Kiff (4 for49) Phil Llewellyn (1 for 22) and James Venables (3 for 27) who finished strongly to help Llangwm to a nerve-jangling win.

Umpires: Denis Chiffi and John Austin.

Scorers: Joy James and Sam Rossiter.
