Narberth (135 all out) lost to Llanrhian 138 for 3 by seven wickets

GOOD performances by Ben and Jack Jones helped Llanrhian beat Narberth at the Lewis Ground as the home side were bowled out for 135 and Llanrhian passed it with seven wickets and overs aplenty to spare.

Sam Mills (38), Mike Scale (32) and Andrew Williams (16) were the main run gatherers for Narberth after they had been asked to bat first, with Jack Jones leading the Llanrhian attack as he claimed 4 for 12 alongside Gareth Davies (2 for 34), Matthew Bennett (1 for 20), Luke Jones (1 for 26) and Dominic Wright (1 for 35). There was also an interesting moment when Geraint Morris took a catch on the boundary, with debate over whether he had stepped over the rope – but the catch was given.

Then Ben Jones carried his bat throughout the Llanrhian innings with a patient 58 not out, sharing a stand of 66 with Gareth Davies (30) that set them well on the way. Matthew Johns (2 for 30) and Kamal Sharma (1 for 32) tried hard to get Narberth back into contention but Dominic Wright’s 32 runs helped ensure a Llanrhian.

Umpires: Trefor Evans & Dai Morris.

Scorer: Peter Hughes & Richard Howell (both Narberth).
