A PEMBROKESHIRE teenager has been selected to play hockey for Wales.
Ellie Codd from Haverfordwest will turn out for the Hockey Wales under-16 squad in a test series against Ireland in Dublin this month.
Fifteen year-old Ellie is a pupil at Sir Thomas Picton School and a member of Haverfordwest ladies hockey club.
The mid-field player attended the 360 performance centre at Haverfordwest from which she was picked to attend Red Shirt Sunday at the national hockey centre in Cardiff before gaining selection into the national age group squad.
Sport Pembrokeshire’s Angela Miles - hockey agent for Pembrokeshire – said she was delighted for Ellie.
“As well as being naturally talented, she works hard in her training and thoroughly deserves her place in the squad,” she said.
Run by Hockey Wales, 360 Hockey centres are aimed at developing talent in young players and helping them grow and excel in the sport.
If there is anyone who would like any further information on the 360 centre in Pembrokeshire, then contact Angela Miles on 01437 776379.
