MILFORD fighter David ‘one more’ Round will return to Pro-MMA action this Saturday when he headlines a major event in Swansea, writes Fraser Watson.

Round, who only last week celebrated the birth of his baby daughter, Lola, will take on the renowned Antanus Jazbutis at the Adrenalin Outlaw event in Swansea.

The show has been organised by Adrenaline Fight Nights.

The pair’s welterweight contest will be main event, on a card that includes the Pro Featherweight British Title fight between Shay Walsh and Marley Swindells.

It will be Round’s first MMA fight since October, and he has since gone on a run of four consecutive wins in kick boxing contests - a discipline in which he currently holds a Welsh title.

“I’ve deliberately taken a bit of time out from MMA fights,” said the 27-year-old.

“And it’s done me good to do some kick boxing bouts and learn a bit more.

“In the past, I’ve been fighting in seven or eight MMA contests a year so I didn’t feel like I had the chance to learn much or properly work at things in between fights.”

Jazbutis, who currently holds two belts in different organisations, put himself forward to fight Round after Ryan Marshall and Alex Thorn both pulled out of a potential bout with the Milford man.

The Lithuanian is widely considered as one of the most recognisable names on theBritish MMA scene.

“I’ve known him for a while and we’ve often fought on the same card,” said Round.

“So I know a lot about him. He’s a flashy fighter and he likes his spinning kicks - it’s going to be tough but I’m looking forward to it.”

Round also praised his training partners and coach James Wallis - who have allowed him to vary his training times following the birth of his daughter.

“The due date was originally set for July 19 but then my partner Leah (Evans) was booked in for a c-section last Wednesday.

“So I’ve been training at unusual times, but Leah has been supportive and the boys have helped me out.”

The fight takes place at the Pitch Side Football arena in Cwmdu Industrial Estate, Swansea.
