Luke Harries, Tenby Golf Club, has become what is believed to be the youngest ever winner of the Dyfed Men's County Championship title, which was held at Tenby Golf Club recently.

With temperatures soaring high, 14-year-old Luke finished with two solid rounds of 76, tying with another Tenby member, Richard Morton.

The outright winner was decided in a thrilling sudden death playoff where both players birdied the first, but finished on the third extra hole after Luke held his nerve to sink a 12ft birdie putt to claim the title.

This is a tremendous achievement for Luke, 4 handicapper, who is also a member of the GUW Academy squad.

Not to be outdone on the silverware, Luke's 17 year old brother, Jack, took the overall nett prize on the day shooting 75, 78, reducing his handicap to 4.
