Gents

THIRTY-six pairs took part in Saturday's competition the Ardent and Old Warrior Foursomes. There was keen scoring with countback separating a number of the leading scores but out in front by a considerable margin was the youthful pairing of Mike Roberts and James Passmore. Their score of 80/59.5 nett was hugely impressive considering the strong, troublesome wind.

It was good to see new faces in the prizes with the pairings of Bryn Hawkings/Cliff Davidson and Tony Pratt/Roger Rees securing second and third places with very good scores of 86/62.5 nett and 82/63.5 nett respectively.

There were 11 twos worth £6.54 credit in the pro shop with Bryn Gee and Alex Youds grabbing three.

Congratulations to Alex Youds for a hole in one on the fourth valley hole and a thank you to him for the traditional bottle of whisky to celebrate.

This week is Rabbit Captain's Day which will be a stableford off the friendly yellow tees with slots still available.
