Neyland 1

Merlins Bridge 4

MERLINS Bridge was to street wise for Neyland as they claimed a comfortable win at the Athletic Ground.

The Wizards opened the scoring in the eight minute, striker Nathan Greene heading home a Nathan Thomas cross.

The visitors had to wait until the second half before they claimed their second goal of the game, striker Stephen McNabney finding the bottom corner of Patrick’s Hannon’s net from seven yards out.

Daniel Bryce headed in the third, the midfielder getting on the end of a teasing free-kick in the box by Dai Davies.

Substitute Steven Dockerty also scored with his head for the Wizards’ fourth goal.

Henry Durrant scored a late consolation goal for the Nomads, hitting a direct free kick past Dan Birch from 25 yards out to complete the scoring.

The Wizards are in fifth position in the table, picking up their fourth victory, but are already three points behind leaders Hakin United, who also have a game in hand.

Neyland are ninth in the league ladder and will be looking to get some wins under their belts over the next couple of months.
