SCOTT Reid converted a late penalty to rescue a point for Herbrandston at home to Goodwick United.

With the visitors on the brink of securing victory, United player manager Nigel Delaney was deemed to have committed a foul inside the box, up stepped Reid to fire home for his second goal of the game.

Reid gave Herbrandston the lead in the tenth minute, but Rob Morgans equalised to make it 1-1 at half-time.

Shane Walsh restored the hosts’ lead ten minutes after the break; burying a low drive in the far corner from 12 yards out. Two minutes later and the visitors were level, Lewis Banks latching onto a pinpoint cross by Jonny Horgan.

The visitors took the lead in the 65th minute, Rob Morgans’ goalbound shot was parried by keeper Gareth Marshallsay, but Rhys Dalling’s deflected rebound shot found the back of the net, then late on Reid was spot-on to salvage a draw.
