West Dragons 0

Hakin United 13

NUMBER 13 maybe an unlucky number, but that was not the case for champions Hakin United who won by that score line at rock bottom West Dragons.

Only last month the Dragons narrowly lost 3-2 at the Obs, but this clash at the Pavilion Ground was an extremely one-sided affair.

Gary Dawes’ Vikings led three-nil at half-time, and then scored ten further goals without reply, and as a result, stay five points clear at the top of the table. At this rate the Dragons are destined for Division Two football next season, as player boss Lee Palmer will desperately want his team to claim a lot more points than the seven they got from 14 games in their remaining 12 matches.

The pick of the Vikings’ goals was a screamer from Adam Davies, an audacious lobbed effort by Nicky Woodrow and substitute Ben Aldred struck an unstoppable right-footed shot from 25 yards that flew in the top corner past Lewis Adkins.

Striker Justin Harding bagged four goals alongside a hat-trick apiece for Woodrow and midfielder Steve Mathias, and there one apiece for Davies, Aldred, and youngster Paul Thompson
