Angle 1

Hakin United 4

HAKIN United secured a comfortable victory at Angle; this result ensures they are five points clear at the top of the table.

After the bitter disappointment of losing at home to Herbrandston, Gary Dawes’ Vikings were determined not to make the same mistake again.

The visitors led three-nil at half time, scoring their goals in a ten-minute purple patch midway through the first period.

Star striker Nicky Woodrow drilled in the opener in the 25th minute, three minutes later and he added his second goal of the game, burying his effort from eight yards. Woodrow assisted with the third goal, his cross in the box was met with a peach of a diving header by Adam Davies.

Three minutes after half time and the visitors added a fourth, Justin Harding in the right place at the right time, slotted past the helpless Angle keeper Luke Lawrence.

The Vikings continued to dominate but failed to find the back of the net again, just a couple of minutes before the final whistle and Chris Richards scored a late goal for Angle.

If the Vikings squad can avoid too many injuries from now until the end of the season, then it would take a brave man not to bet against them retaining their third title in a row.
