WHITLAND Ladies RFC team manager Suzanne Davies was rewarded for her sterling work on Saturday night as she won the coach/volunteer of the year prize at the Welsh Womens Rugby awards at the Millennium Stadium.

Suzanne, who helped form the Whitland side in 2008, was presented with her award by Head of Womens Rugby Caroline Spanton.

This season, Whitland finished second behind Skewen in their first season in the Welsh Premiership. Borderettes back row players Natalie Walsh and Sioned Harris were also amongst the six nominees for the Premier Division Player of the Season, eventually won by Becky Newton (Llandaf North).

Walsh and Harris were also recognised with Whitland team mates Mari Griffiths, Delyth Davies, Nia Elen Davies, Jenny Collins, Sara Davies, Lowri Morgan, Angharad Williams and Alice James for helping the Scarlets ladies to a Regional Championship win - and furthermore, Harris and Davies have been included in the Welsh squad for the upcoming Six Nations.
