Women's Super Cup Group A.

Whitland 89 -5 Seven Sisters.

THE Borderettes continued their good run of form with a comprehensive win over fellow Premiership side Seven Sisters at a muddy Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.

To the credit of the visitors, despite being ravaged by injuries to their back line they still fulfilled the fixture.

In the first minute a break out of defence by Whitland resulted in a try for flying winger Mari Griffiths. Next to cross the whitewash was welsh hooker Delyth Davies who had been released from the national squad for the weekend to have some game time.

This was followed by a try for Alice James who followed up her own kick ahead to score.

Griffiths then added another two tries to notch a hat trick with just 30 minutes gone.

Nat Walsh then marked her return to action after breaking her hand playing with the Scarlets, by side stepping her way over from the half way line. Griffiths added another brace before half time courtesy of slick hands from her inside backs, bringing her first half tally to five tries. Two conversions were kicked, one by Becca Norris and one by Cerys Moyle.

The Borderettes emptied their bench at half time but still continued their all out attack strategy.

Veteran centre Karen Maze sped to cracking hat trick in a ten minute spell - converting two herself and the other was converted by Griffiths.

The next try caused the biggest cheer of the day as the Seven Sisters pack powered upfield to crash over for their solitary score.

Bit Whitland winger Maggie Simons scored her first ever try wide out, closely followed by her second which was converted by Griffiths.

Angharad Williams crashed over for a try towards the end but there was still enough time after the kick off for Simons to be put away to score her third, again converted by Griffiths.

Special mention to Elin Hywel whose outstanding performance gained her the player of the match award.

The Borderettes are away next week in the much anticipated game against the Pen Y Banc Panthers.
