Juniors

THE final week of the Winter Matchplay took place last Saturday. Thomas Wood won his match which meant that a win in the Josh Lewis v Abe Forsyth game would lead to a play-off against Thomas. Abe managed a birdie on the Par Five 17th, then Josh went near with his 15ft birdie attempt on the 18th and Abe held his nerve to hole a 5 ft putt that halved the match. This left Thomas half a point clear at the top and therefore the winner of the Winter Matchplay. Josh and Abe then played off for overall runner-up, and Josh produced a magnificent up and down on the first play-off hole to pip Abe.

Next week is the start of the Trophy Season, with the Clawsafe Cup being the first.
