Goodwick United 1
Merlins Bridge 2
MERLINS Bridge were thrilled to pick-up the points with a narrow victory at Goodwick United.
This game wasn’t a classic, and once again windy conditions proved difficult for both teams at Phoenix Park.
After a goalless first period Rob Morgans missed a sitter that would have gave his side the lead, minutes later and Nathan Thomas miss timed shot fell kindly to striker Nathan Greene to score with a simple tap-in.
Ten minutes later, James Skudder struck from inside the box to double the Wizards’ advantage.
Ten minutes from the end Goodwick hit back as Morgans made amends by scoring directly from a corner.
