THE first Pembrokeshire under 9s cricket festival of the summer has taken place, with Llangwm the
venue.

And the day proved a success as enthusiastic youngsters produced some entertaining cricket.

Fortunately, the rain just about held off to allow the four teams that attended to play some quality cricket against each other.

The action was enjoyed by a good crowd that had gathered in the grandstand at Pill Parks.

Overall Llangwm, Pembroke Dock and two sides from Hook all played three matches each.

And there was a unique moment in the match between hosts Llangwm and Hook A, a match where there was a set of triplets playing for each team.

Rafael, Raul and Ramon Siso represented Llangwm under 9s while Troy, Noah and Bailey Goodridge all played for Hook A.

One of the tournament organisers, Simon Williams, said: “There can’t have been many occasions, if any, where this has happened before in Pembrokeshire cricket.”

The next under 9s festival is taking place at Haverfordwest Cricket Club on Sunday, June 7, where there will be a fun day running alongside the cricket action.
