Haverfordwest (87 for 2) beat Johnston (84 all out) by 8 wickets
League Leaders Haverfordwest made sure that they beat the impending rain by bowling out Johnston for only 84 runs and then taking only 13 overs to reach their target for the loss of just two wickets.
Town skipper Danny Potter won the vital toss and asked Johnston to bat and the visitors were soon in trouble as fast bowler Adam James charged down the slope to claim 5 for 16. He had excellent support from ‘spin twins’ AJ Revu (2 for 18) and Clive Tucker (3 for 18) so that only Lee Summons (35) and Mikey Jones (12) managed double figures for Johnston.
Haverfordwest opened with Adam Raymond and Simon Holliday, who sped to 24 before he was caught looking for another boundary – and as Raymond dropped anchor with 20 not out so The Town’s other doctor, AJ Revu, played an exciting array of strokes which took him to 33 in only 27 deliveries before he also fell.
But it mattered little because Haverfordwest skipper Danny Potter strode to the crease and belted a boundary to finish the match in style and keep his team top of the table, and still unbeaten in the process.
Umpires: Huw Davies & Richard Merriman.
Scorers: Jayne Cole & Delyth Summons.
