CRESSELLY pulled off a shock result in midweek as they knocked holders Haverfordwest out of the second round of the Harrison Allen Bowl.
In a repeat of the 2014 final, the home side gained revenge after restricting The Town to 137-6. Dai Davies (46 not out) and Ben Field (31) top scored against Ryan Lewis (2-26), Tom Murphy (1-33), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (1-24) and Mike Shaw (1-35).
Cresselly passed the total with four wickets in hand, thanks to a hard hitting 53 from Iwan Izzard, plus contributions from Simon Cole (36) and McDermott-Jenkins 26.
Lawrenny eased to a home win over Llanrhian after making 176-7.
Simon Cole (52), Andrew Cole (41) and Steve Lewis (33) were in the runs despite wickets from Gareth Davies (2-49), Jack Jones (2-47), and Dominic Wright (2-19).
In the Llanrhian reply, skipper Paul Lewis (30) and Matthew Bennett (24) got starts, but Jamie Lewis (4-29) and Alistair Evans (5-19) restricted them to 113 all out.
Llangwm meanwhile, hammered Crymych at Pill Parks.
The visitors were shot out for 70, despite 36 from Richard Thorne. Phil Llewellyn (2-13), Matthew Kiff (5-17), Richard Brock (2-9), and Luke Brock (1-6) did the damage.
Will Beresford (43 not out), Huw Brock (6 not out), and 23 extras saw Llangwm home by ten wickets.
Ashley Sutton struck a ton as Neyland beat Stackpole.
Sutton hit 121, and skipper Gregg Miller 52, as Neyland made 236-2.
The Division Three side were then dismissed for 64, as Lewys Gibby (31) top scored against great spells from Andrew Miller (5-9) and Nathan Banner (2-19).
Carew enjoyed a good win at Tish.
The home side were shot out for 113, despite 49 not out from Andrew Williams and 29 from captain Peter Bradshaw. Tom Davies (4-27), Ceri Brace (3-23), and Rob Scourfield (2-32) kept Carew on top - and they then eased home by six wickets thanks to Lewis Hicks (26), Tom Davies (41 not out), and Nick Scourfield (15 not out).
Daniel Flynn (2-21) and Andrew Pawlett (2-19) took wickets for Tish.
Burton beat Kilgetty at Oatfield Park.
Jack Davies (38), George Williams (33), James Davies and Steve Jones (both 17 not out) led them to 159-7 against Kyle Marsh (2-15) and Toby Poole (2-36).
Kilgetty made 123-9 thanks to Ross Hardy (39) and Ian Poole (23 not out), but Jack (6-27) and James Davies (2-23) ensured they didn’t get close.
Whitland won by nine wickets at Pembroke.
The home side were 84 all out, with Barry Evans (21) and Billy Wood (16 not out) the only batsmen to get going against Dan James (5-25) and Mark Lee (4-22).
The visitors got home for the loss of just one wicket (Jonathan Rogers 1-18), thanks to Kevin Pearce (40 not out) and Paul Davies (29 not out).
Johnston won well at Camrose after restricting the home side to 99-6.
Martin James (35) and Dan Wilks (17) got runs for the home side, who were kept in check by Steve Mills (2-12), Jason Davies (1-37), Jack Mills (1-13) and Lee Summons (1-16).
Mikey Jones (40 not out) and Steve Mills (42 not out) saw their side home by nine wickets, with Jon Venables (1-26) the only Camrose bowler to strike.
