GALE force winds presented a challenge for Rosemarket Golf Club seniors members who took part in the Texas 3 Ball Medal competition held last Tuesday.
Despite the conditions good scores were achieved with the first three teams within 3 points of each other.
The winners with a nett 69 were Ted Thomas, Colin Rogers and Kenny Davies. Dennis Evans, Mike Butler and B De la Bastide were runners up with nett 70.5 and Tony Ensom, Brian Johnson and Paul Jones were a respectable third with nett 71.8.
The winning team’s score included a gross 2 on the 7th hole.
August gents monthly stableford winner also getting the only two of the day on hole 16 was Alex James with 37pts, runner up Des Potter 36pts, third Gary Lloyd 35pts, fourth Tom Strand 34pts, fifth Alex Young beating Chris Hine on count back with 33pts.
Ladies winner with an excellent 42pts was Amber Deakin, runner up Jayne Morgan 31pts, third Alison McCormack 30pts.
