PEMBROKESHIRE'S Natalie Walsh was one of five Whitland Ladies RFC players to help the Scarlets to victory in the Fosters Radler National 7s at Cardiff Arms Park.

Walsh was joined by Delyth Davies, Nia Elen Davies, Lucy Demaine and skipper on the day Sioned Harries, as the side overcame the Ospreys and the Dragons to add the 7s title to their regional 15-a-side crown.

The Scarlets beat the Ospreys 24-19 in their opening fixture with Walsh, Harries and Demaine all crossing for tries before their side were reduced to six players late on - and had to withstand pressure from a physical Ospreys side before sealing the win.

And the Scarlets sealed the title with a 26-14 victory over the Blues. All five Whitland players were again involved, with Demaine and Harries both scoring - despite a yellow card and two minute sin bin during the first half for the latter.

The event ran alongside the men's regional 7s, and afterwards Walsh told Telegraph Sport: "It was a great opportunity for the ladies game to take the stage alongside the men in the tournament - and a chance for people to see the high standard our game can be played at.

"Coming away with the win to become champions again just made it even better."
