HAVERFORDWEST Ladies RFC finally got their season up and running with a Division Two 26-5 victory over Senghenydd on Sunday (September 27).
With key players unavailable either due to regional rugby or international football duties, the team made the long trip to the Aber Valley with a strong but new squad.
Captain Nina Colville filled in at centre and set the tone with her abrasive running, and 18 year-old Jess Charles made an impressive debut in the senior team.
Full back Charlotte Wood opened the scoring, with the other tries coming from Lyn Egelstaff (2) and Nina Colville.
Emily Banner stepped in at outside half, and was named man of the man by Haverfordwest coaches Gareth Charles and Ben John.
A special mention must also go to veteran prop Natalie Bowen, who was roped into playing at the last minute and lasted the whole 80 minutes.
