Division Two:

Haverfordwest Ladies 62-3 Abergele

Haverfordwest Ladies RFC entertained Abergele at St Davids on Easter Sunday.

The game had to be switched from Merlins Bridge after the Blues' pitches were deemed unplayable.

Due to the strong winds handling was difficult for players early on - but to the credit of both teams they soon adapted to the conditions.

The opening exchanges were tight but as Haverfordwest led 5-3, but then The Blues turned on the style and scored ten tries - displaying some exceptional handling from the young back line and determined running from the pack.

Tries came from Jess Charles, Jess Jones, Clodagh Llewhellin, Steph Harris (3), Sophie Rees (3), and Nina Colville. Jo Price added six conversions.

The Haverfordwest player of the match award went to the outstanding Maria Phillips.

This was an important result for Haverfordwest who are unbeaten in the league so far and still on course for promotion to Division One.

The bonus point win keeps them just ahead of also unbeaten Ynysybwl who they play twice in early May.
