TENBY bodybuilder Shamsul Ali continues to see his reputation grow after taking top prize in the USN Bodypower Classic at the NEC Arena, Birmingham.

Ali, competing in the up to 178cm men’s physique category, has now been entered for the British Finals and IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) Diamond Cup, which are both set to take place in October, after sealing victory in the Classic.

And Shamsul, who is currently based in Weymouth, said he was suprised to take the title ahead of professional bodybuilder Tom Coleman.

“Looking at the line-up, I genuinely thought if I got in the top three I would be over the moon,” he admitted.

Shamsul is now set to take a month off before getting getting preparations underway for further events later in the year. He says he is also considering defending his UKBFF Welsh title in September, before going to the British Finals.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old said he had been taken aback at how quickly his career was developing.

He added: “I only created an Instagram account eight months ago and YouTube channel in the last four months and my following is growing very fast.

“I have people all over the world asking me for advice on what supplements I use and what exercises I do in order to create my physique.

“I also receive messages saying how I am helping motivate them.”

Shamsul also thanked sponsors Nutrigo Meals and Future Physiques.
