THIS weekend the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will return to Abereiddy for the sixth leg of the World Series - and new to 2016, female divers will be competing in Wales.

Today's scheduled practice day was called off due to high winds and rain, but with the weather set to improve for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, organisers have told Telegraph Sport this afternoon that no alterations have been made to the weekend timetable.

The former slate quarry at the Blue Lagoon, now a National Trust site, will again see the men’s platform at almost three times that of the 10 metre board in Olympic diving - and water depth reaching 25 metres at its deepest point.

This event also welcomes female competitors for the first time with American wildcard Tara Hyer and Brazilian Jaki Valente amongst those heading to Wales for the first time.

In the 14 men and eight female-strong divers line-up, are two British athletes, five-time overall winner Gary Hunt, and former Olympian Blake Aldridge. In Wales Blake and Gary will be joined by British Wildcard Mat Cowen for one event only to compete with a much valued home advantage, as thousands are expected to turn out in support.

Tickets for both days have long sold out, with thousands again expected to descend on the Blue Lagoon for one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Pembrokeshire sporting calendar.

This event will be LIVE on www.redbullcliffdiving.com and Red Bull TV. Red Bull TV is available on web, connected TVs, gaming consoles, mobile devices and more.
