Carew 1-5 Goodwick United 5

Senior Cup holders Goodwick United gained a comfortable victory at Carew to reach the last eight of the competition.

The Rooks were determined to cause an upset, but the visitors deservedly built-up a three-goal cushion at half time and then scored two further goals in the second period.

Steven Dockerty headed in Jonny Horgan’s cross for the opener, midfielder Adam Raymond was on target with the second and third goals.

After the break the visitors continued to press and were rewarded when Horgan struck goal number four. Substitute Ben John was also on target with a fifth, and right at the death Nielson Cole pulled one back for the well beaten Rooks.

Hakin United 6-0 Tenby

Hakin United marched into the Senior Cup quarter finals after easily despatching of Tenby at the Obs.

This was the tie of the round, but the visitors had no answer to the Vikings, who totally dominated from the start to the finish of this tie.

Left side midfielder Adam John opened the scoring in the tenth minute, unleashing a low 18 yard shot that found the far corner.

Ten minute later and Ryan Wilson lashed home the second from ten yards, which gave the Vikings a two-goal cushion at the break.

Shortly after the interval and Ben Steele capitalised on an error by Tenby keeper James Dickson to score the third.

Star striker Nicky Woodrow then turned on the style to score a hat-trick that put the shine on another impressive victory for Kristan Bennett’s Vikings.

West Dragons 3-3 Lamphey

West Dragons held there nerve to claim a hard fought victory against Lamphey to reach the last eight of the Senior Cup.

The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute when Billy Davis scored from the spot. Dragons equalised when Lamphey defender Ben Phillips headed a Simon Gilderdale free kick in the box into his own net.

Player boss Matthew Price gave the Dragons the lead when he struck a superb curling shot into the top corner. Then Jordan Williams scored from close range to give the hosts a 3-1 lead at half time.

In the 75th minute the visitors scored their second goal of the tie, Dano Kitts scoring with a long range shot.

Both teams were reduced to ten-men when Lamphey’s Nico Morrison and Dragons’ Dorian Davies were sent off for second bookable offences.

The visitors were denied an equaliser when Dragons’ goalkeeper Peter Blain pulled off a late match winning save.

The other teams to reach the last eight of the competition in ties played on Saturday were Monkton Swifts who won 7-1 against Pembroke Boro; Prendergast Villa beat Kilgetty 3-0; Solva won 5-3 against Lawrenny and St Ishmaels narrowly lost 3-4 at home against Clarbeston Road.

The draw for the Senior Cup quarter finals has not been announced, it’s likely that the ties won’t be played until the early part of next year.

Division One

Johnston 4-7 Angle

Angle picked up their second league win on the bounce, with a high-scoring victory at Johnston.

This was the visitors’ third win of the campaign and lift them up the table to sixth, while the Tigers sit second from bottom.

Angle put on an excellent first half display as they led 6-0, but to the Tigers credit they scored four goals in the second period through Ryan Doyle, Ryan Codd, Jamie Picton and Liam Boswell. But the visitors secured the points with goals by Connor Willis (3), Simon Lewis, Tom Grimwood, Nick Willis, Gavin Wickland.

Milford United 6-1 Merlins Bridge

Merlins Bridge had too much fire power for Milford United, gaining a comfortable victory that moved the Wizards to the top of the table.

The visitors scored the opener midway through the first period, Will Haworth finding the back of the net, in the 35th minute Chris Davies equalised, but Wizards striker Joe Leahy scored twice that gave his side a 3-1 cushion at the break.

Leahy completed his hat-trick shortly after the interval, and Simon Thomas struck two further goals to keep their unbeaten record intact.

Neyland 4-0 Narberth

Neyland put in a strong second half shift to comfortably dispose of Narberth at the Athletic Ground.

This was the Nomads’ fourth win of the season, and sees them go second in the table, level on points with leaders Merlins Bridge.

Striker Justin Harding, scored a cracking hat-trick, but the best goal was saved until last, when Henry Durrant curled a 20 yard free kick into the top left hand corner.
