VALERO has pledged to continue championing sport in Pembrokeshire for another year.
The oil giant, which has a refinery at Pembroke, has agreed to continue its sponsorship of Sport Pembrokeshire for 2017.
Next year this sponsorship will - in addition to the prestigious annual Sport Pembrokeshire Awards scheme – help deliver a range of sports development projects across the county.
They include projects in fun football, disability sport, school-based tennis, hockey centres and school cricket.
Sport Pembrokeshire manager Ben Field said: “We are extremely grateful for Valero’s continuing support.
“The company has been a great friend of community and school based sport for many years and we hope that the partnership will continue for many years to come.
“Without them we would be unable to provide the range of activities that we can for the young people of Pembrokeshire.”
Valero’s Refinery Public Affairs Manager, Stephen Thornton added:
“We are delighted to be able to support Sport Pembrokeshire for another year.
“Sport is a great way to unite people, to make friends, build confidence and helps create the leaders of tomorrow.
“We have a long and successful partnership with Sport Pembrokeshire, who run an inclusive programme that caters for everyone and we are pleased to be a part of that.”
