Pembrokeshire Football League Division One:

Narberth 4-4 Neyland

HAT tricks from Sean O’Neill and Justin Harding earned their teams a point at Jesse Road – but The Bluebirds missed a chance to get a vital three points in the battle against relegation.

The home side dominated the opening 40 minutes, and went 3-0 up thanks to a clinical hat trick from O’Neill.

Just before the break, Sean Hannon pulled one back for Neyland with a header from Wayne Parry’s cross.

In the second half Neyland pushed Harding, who started at left back, into his familiar role as striker and it paid dividends as he lobbed home keeper Ben Ventura Mesquita from 35 yards.

Narberth made it 4-2 when the outstanding O’Neill set up Dafydd Wright to score at the back post, but Harding reduced the deficit again from close range after a good pass from Patrick Bellerby.

And with ten minutes left, Harding blasted in a left footed volley to make it 4-4.

Both sides then missed good chances at the death – meaning Narberth drew level with Milford United as the pair battle to get out of the second relegation spot.

But The Robins have a superior goal difference, and last night (Tuesday), Narberth were due to host Monkton, while Milford were away at Tenby, in the pair’s final games of the season.
