Division Two West:

Tenby United v Hendy

TENBY United will go into today’s Division Two West match with Hendy knowing a win will secure promotion - and an immediate return back to Division One.

The Seasiders currently lie second, a point ahead of third placed Pontarddulais, who are playing their last game of the campaign away at Tumble.

But if Tenby register a four point win, even if Pontardullais pick up a bonus point victory to finish level with them on points, it’s The Seasiders who will secure runners up spot by virtue of having won more league matches.

Tycroes currently top the table, six points clear of Andrew Morgan’s men, but they have finished their league games.

That means that a win today, coupled with another success in Tenby’s final league game away to Pontyberem next week, will be enough to secure the title.

But the added complication is Tenby host Hendy this afternoon – who lie fourth but could yet be second by tonight should they win at Heywood Lane, and Pontarddulais also lose.

However, despite all the different connotations, The Seasiders will be purely focussed on a home win for now, and subsequent guaranteed promotion.

JT Auto’s Pembrokeshire KO Cup semi-final:

Cardigan v Aberystywyth

Tenby will also have an eye on the outcome of this – as they await the winners in the final on Friday, May 12th at Crymych RFC.

It’s been a tough few weeks for Cardigan, who suffered heartbreak in the National Bowl semi-final with defeat against Amman United – before missing out on the Division Three West A title after losing successive matches against St Clears, Milford Haven, and Pembroke.

But they did at least rack up more than 100 points on Pembroke Dock Harlequins in their final league game last week, to at least head into today with momentum.

They will have their work cut out against Aber mind, who have enjoyed a good season in Division One West.
