Pembroke County Cricket Club fixtures for Saturday, June 10:

Division 1 (1.30pm):

Carew v Whitland

All games today are obviously subject to the weather, and it would be a real shame if this one was wiped out.

Leaders Carew of course have a lot of momentum, and showed no signs of let up last week as Shaun Whitfield led a ruthless bowling display at Kilgetty.

But Whitland have come into form, winning each of their last three games with scores of 200 plus. Dylan Blain and Wayne Howells were the latest batsmen to excel last week, and if the visitors bat first, they could provide a real test of Carew's nerve and title credentials.

Haverfordwest v Johnston

The Town have made light work of Kilgetty and Pembroke last two weeks, and on paper will be fancied to continue their pursuit of Carew against struggling Johnston at The Racecourse.

For the visitors, it is a case of hoping skipper Lee Summons and in particular, opener Dan Sutton both excel with the bat again - but the pair will need support and others to stand up if they are to get their survival bid going today.

Kilgetty v Cresselly

For the third consecutive week, Kilgetty face a side in the top three, and will be eager for a better showing against one of the league's title chasers than they put on against Haverfordwest and Carew.

To do that, their top order will need to push on after getting starts, with only Kurtis Marsh getting any side of score last week.

Cresselly overcame Johnston last week, with Dan James taking his first five wicket haul, and they will know this is the sort of trip they have to overcome to stay in the title race.

Pembroke v Neyland

Pembroke already lie 52 points of safety and need to start winning desperately.

At the start of the campaign, this fixture would have seemed a nightmare one of any side trying to find form - but they host a Neyland team in need of urgent momentum themselves.

Sean Hannon's men are in the unfamiliar league position of seventh, with just one win from their seven games.

Admittedly, they have had key players missing, but they need to find their feet soon to salvage a thus far underwhelming summer.

St Ishmaels v Lawrenny

Tish will go into this game in a far more positive frame of mind than in recent weeks, after their win at Neyland last Saturday.

Phil Cockburn and Brennan Devonald were the heroes last week, and a win today would see them suddenly pushing the top four after seemingly flirting with relegation only weeks ago.

Lawrenny meanwhile, have conducted themselves superbly in what has been a difficult time for the club, but following defeat against Whitland last Saturday, know the importance of a result to out daylight between themselves and the bottom two.
