A FORMER Pembrokeshire footballer will be remembered today (Sunday) when an Ollie Morgan XI takes on the Haverfordwest County Development Side - 1.30pm kick off at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Ollie was a promising centre half who played for Tenby and Carew. He was part of the Ronnie Beynon and Steve Briers Haverfordwest County McWhirter Cup winning side in 2005-06, the first year on its inception. The youngster was full of promise and on the radar of ex first team manager Derek Brazil before he tragically died in 2007.

This year is the 10 year anniversary of his passing, so ex-team mates from the McWhirter winning side and other local teams have formed the Ollie Morgan XI super squad to play Steve Batty’s development side.

Entrance is free but donations on the door will be welcomed, with funds being split between the Haverfordwest academy (where Ollie played) and sports teams of the Morgan family’s choosing.
