PEMBROKESHIRE College student Oliver Charnock-Crawford, 18, enjoyed a silver lining to his time at the Underwater Hockey World Age Group Championships in Tasmania.
He represented the GB Under-19 Men's side that got to the final for the first time since 2006.
They were second in the round-robin stage of the competition without losing a game. However, they drew with France and goal difference placed them second going into the play-offs.
Their winning streak continued up to the final where they met France again and were beaten 3-2.
Oliver's sister, Victoria, 15, represented the Women's Under 19 side that finished sixth.
