IT has been a fantastic season for the Pembroke Ladies hockey side, who secured promotion to Premiership Two of the South Wales Hockey League by winning the Division One title.

And remarkably, they achieved this in their first season in that league, having only been promoted from Division 2 in the 2015/16 campaign.

However, the squad vowed to train hard and keep progressing, and sure enough, were emphatic winners of Division One in 2016/17, nothching 15 wins to secure the title by seven points - scoring 45 goals and conceding 14 in the process.

The team comprises of many senior players, but juniors of 16 and under also form a core of the squad.

And Pembroke Ladies also has a second team, who after strong performances in their Development League last season are now in Division Four B of the South Wales League - a huge step forward for them.  They will now have weekly games both home and away.

Training for juniors and seniors is 6pm every Tuesday, and the club welcomes anyone who would like to either start or return to playing.

Furthermore, the club has just secured community funding from the Port of Milford Haven to contribute to the purchase of a new goalkeeping kit, and Pembroke Ladies told Telegraph Sport they wanted to publicly Port for their support.

Both teams also wanted to thank their coach Dave Miller, and Stefan of ILMIO Photography for taking action pictures of their games.
