Division Three West A:

Pembroke 95-5 St Davids

The much publicised 'Storm Brian' did little to halt Pembroke's momentum as The Scarlets crossed for 17 tries against to St Davids to move six points clear in Division Three West A.

The Scarlets took advantage of Milford Haven not playing as centre Dan Colley had a field day with six tries, while there were also hat tricks for brothers Sam and Toby Smith.

Geraint Lewis' men kicked off with a strong wind behind them and took full advantage, as No 8 Sam opened the scoring with a charging run down the left wing.

Then it was Toby's turn as he dived over from a close range ruck, and Colley got his first after a strong run and pop pass from flanker Dom Colman.

The Saints then enjoyed a spell of pressure from which Toby Smith was sin binned for a high tackle on away full back Rhys Morgan - but The Scarlets won turnover ball and turned defence into attack, going the length of the field for Colley to jink between the posts. No 10 Simon Hooper converted.

Sam Smith got his second try from a driving lineout, before a quick penalty from scrum half Tom Lewis set up Colley for his treble and Hooper again added the extras.

Toby Smith returned to the field to go under the posts after a set switch with Hooper, who again converted, before full back Luke Hartland got his name on the score sheet after winning the race to his own chip kick.

There was still time for Toby Smith to seal his try hat trick before half time, and Cooper did the honours to open up a huge 53-0 lead at the break.

With full back Rhys Morgan outstanding in defence, the visitors were more resolute in the early stages of the second half, but Geraint Lewis' men were soon back in their stride when flanker Billy Wood went over, and Sam Smith sealed his try treble from another lineout drive.

Colley then twice rounded off spells of pressure to take his try tally to five, and replacements Daffy Lewis and Rhys Mainwaring combined, with the latter diving over for a try Hooper converted.

Another replacement in Cyle Weatherall also crossed, but to St Davids' credit, their perseverance paid off late on when centre Matty Mcleod made a break in midfield, before some neat handling put replacement wing Rhys Evans over in the corner.

The Scarlets however, had the final word when Colley got his sixth try, and skipper Jonny Palmer crashed over from the game's final play, as The Scarlets warmed up nicely for next week's National Bowl Round Three game at Cefn Cribbwr.
