TENBY bodybuilder Shamsul Ali, now based in Weymouth, has marked his recent progress by finishing second in the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (UKBFF) British finals.
At the start of 2017, Shamul felt a lack of size was hindering his results, so set about a six month programme to put on extra weight and get in the condition he felt was necessary to compete.
Then in September, it paid dividends when he entered the UKBFF East of England Championships in Leicester, exactly four weeks before the British finals.
He needed a top three finish to qualify for the latter - which he duly achieved by winning the event, and then went on to finish second in Britain in his category at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham.
