West Wales Cup quarter finals (2pm):

Goodwick United v Ystradgynlais

Goodwick beat Ystradgynlais on their way to winning the competition in 2015/16, and while their hosts have notched some big league wins this season, it should be noted they play in the second tier of the Neath Leagues.

What’s more, the Phoenix Boys now have the bonus of home advantage, with the venue now reversed as the tie has twice been postponed.

But you don't reach this stage without being a good side, and furthermore, Ystrad’s 8-0 win over league leaders Ynysygerwn two weeks ago was a huge statement of intent.

Wayne O Sullivan’s side have not been at their best in recent weeks, but have become accustomed to raising their game for big ties.

Even with home advantage, they won’t be panicked into piling forward tomorrow – and with top scorer Jordan Griffiths now back to full fitness, will as ever be happy to be patient knowing they have the quality to break forward when the chance arises.

I fancied O’Sullivan’s side last weekend when away from home, and even more so now they are at Phoenix Park.

Score prediction: Goodwick United 3-1 Ystradgynlais

Bwlch Rangers v Merlins Bridge

Whilst Goodwick have benefited from their game being off twice - Bridge are the opposite.

They now having to go away to a Bwlch side that have won 10 and drawn three of 13 league games in the Carmarthenshire Premier League – and impressively hammered regular contenders Morriston Olympic 6-0 earlier in this competition.

On the plus side, The Wizards now have two key players in midfielder Luke Hayward and striker Adam Hawkins available after both were away on the weekend.

The Wizards are a fit and organised side and have played enough tough cup ties already this season not to be fazed by having to travel.

Their task has been made harder – but maybe through Pembrokeshire bias I admit, I’ll back them to get through.

But it wouldn’t surprise me if it took 120 minutes, not 90.

Score prediction: Bwlch Rangers 1-2 Merlins Bridge (after extra time)

Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League Division One (2.30pm):

Carew v Narberth

You have to hand it to Carew for the way they overcame Giants Grave to reach the last four of the West Wales Cup last weekend.

Having suffered the disappointment of Senior Cup semi final defeat, their season was teetering on the brink at half time before they recovered from 2-1 down to win 5-2.

Sam Christopher and Scott Ferney both scored twice but it was the display of midfielder Iwan Izzard, who also netted with a header, that was singled out for particular praise.

And now with a semi final on Tuesday, potentially against Goodwick United, it will be interesting to see how that impacts The Rooks tomorrow.

Manager Nick Scourfield will want his side going in on the back off a positive display, whilst at the same time, will not want any fresh injury or fitness worries ahead of the club’s biggest game in recent history.

They face a Narberth team second in the table following their 4-0 win over West Dragons last time out, with Jordan Williams scoring twice.

He is one of ample attacking options currently available to coaches Morgan Preece and Ade Jones, but unlike their hosts, The Bluebirds have not played for three weeks.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, and the extent to which Carew players can retain focus ahead of Tuesday, will have a big say in the outcome.

Score prediction: Carew 2-2 Narberth

Clarbeston Road v Pennar Robins

Clarbie’s 5-4 home loss to Monkton in their last game was understandable given they had played a draining Senior Cup semi-final in midweek.

But they can’t be off the boil tomorrow at home to a Pennar team buoyed by last week’s 3-1 win over Herbie, a result that shot them to eighth in the table.

Chris Lloyd’s men have now all but secured their Division One place for this season, and the acquisition of Michael Ryder has proved worthwhile after he struck again in Saturday’s win.

The visitors will have to be on their guard tomorrow against a Clarbie side who will always threaten, and Lloyd’s team cannot allow the midfield duo of Michael Turpin and player-manager Matthew Ellis time on the ball in the middle.

The Senior Cup finalists have been tricky to predict this season, but have already proven they can match anyone when they click.

Ironically, it was Pennar’s 2-1 win over tomorrow’s opponents that kick started their revival in the league after an awful start – but I suspect Clarbie may sneak revenge tomorrow.

Score prediction: Clarbeston Road 3-2 Pennar Robins

Hakin United v Angle

This is a big chance for The Vikings to close the gap on points and games in hand on leaders Goodwick United.

They were frustrated by having to postpone their scheduled match with Narberth last weekend, but come into this on the back of two big wins over Carew in league and cup.

Kristan Bennett’s side face a backlog at the end of the season given they have played just nine Division One fixtures, but the return to fitness of promising youngster Ben Fawcett will boost his squad.

Angle played in one of just two top flight games to go ahead last week, but despite Ben Adams again getting on the scoresheet, could only lose at home to West Dragons.

They still have a little work to do to ensure survival, but keeper James Harries and his defence will have to be on the top of their games if the visitors are to take anything from The Obs.

Score prediction: Hakin United 4-1 Angle

Milford United v Lamphey

It may already be too late for Milford United – but lose tomorrow, and there really will be no way back.

Despite being rock bottom it has not been all negative for manager Adrian Hutchings – who has blooded youngsters like Lewys Tee and keeper Jack Nicholas and seen enough for promise for campaigns to come.

His side have battled hard all season, but a lack of killer instinct is reflected in their record of two league wins from 17 games – and their last matches have resulted in 6-0 (Clarbeston Road) and 4-0 (Pennar Robins) defeats.

Lamphey on the other hand, should be safe but need to address their own form after back to back defeats.

They have struggled to field a settled squad this season, and will want Anthony Webb back in the same goal scoring form he showed pre-Christmas.

This is a game that Milford must target if they are to cling on to any hope of staying up, but turning around those two big defeats will be no small order.

Score prediction: Milford United 1-2 Lamphey

Neyland v Herbrandston

After recent improvements, Herbie’s loss at Pennar last weekend now leaves them staring back down the barrel.

Oliver West’s men have seven points to make up on the nearest side above them (Angle), and have played three more games.

The reality is they can ill afford any more slip ups, and must get a result away to a Neyland side going in on the back of a 3-1 win over Lamphey a fortnight ago.

The Nomads were dominant that day and the scoreline could have been greater had they taken their chances, with Henry Durrant’s stunning opener reminding everyone how dangerous his left foot can be.

Andrew Kemp’s side are looking solid again, and I’d back them here against a Herbie side who I fear may have had the stuffing knocked out of their survival bid at Bush Camp.

Score prediction: Neyland 2-0 Herbrandston

West Dragons v Monkton Swifts

That 2-1 win at Angle on Saturday, courtesy of goals from Liam Sheehan and Travis Jones, was a huge one for The Dragons.

It now puts them nine points clear of the bottom two, and all but safe after a turbulent campaign.

But it will be tough tomorrow against a Monkton side with 10 points from 12 in 2018, and it was the in-form Patrick Mcdonagh who struck a hat trick in their win at Clarbie last time out.

The Swifts lie third, and although the amount of games they’ve played means it’s unlikely they will stay there, a best top flight finish since coming seventh in the 2013/14 season is well within their grasp.

You feel the critical game for The Dragons came last week, and if the visitors maintain their current form, it will be tough for Lee Palmer’s side to back that up tomorrow.

Score prediction: West Dragons 1-3 Monkton Swifts
