MANY of us may just be thinking about dusting off the rackets for the summer - but the men’s side at Haverfordwest Tennis Club have already enjoyed their share of success in 2018.

The team recently celebrated promotion after winning their division in the Cymru Kitchens Winter League, that is played between September and March and includes sides from across South Wales.

Despite facing teams of the pedigree of Penarth Windsor, Glamorgan, and Stow Park, they won seven out of eight matches under captain Louis Warren – who was instrumental in setting up weekly training, arranging fixtures and transport, and team selection.

Alongside Louis - Nathan Jones, Dean Richards, Yan Morris, Gareth Robinson, Bruce Evans, Richard Davies, Richard Jones, Igor, Hardijs, Allan Jones, Steve Haynes and Rod Evers all formed a successful squad.

And the club will now turn their attention to the Summer League for men’s and ladies teams at the end of April – and are always on the lookout for new players.

Anyone interested in taking part competitively or socially can visit HaverfordwestTennis.com or the club’s Facebook page. From the start of April, outdoor training starts at the Parade every Tuesday and Thursday.
