So the midweek mayhem is underway.
It is going to be a mad scramble from here on in, with how strongly certain teams finish likely to depend on midweek availability of players, and how they cope with the demands of two or three games a week.
In the Division One title race this week, the main winners have been Merlins Bridge. Their home clash with Hakin was called off on Tuesday, and Goodwick failed to take advantage as they drew 2-2 at Clarbie Road.
The Wizards then got a point themselves at Phoenix Park yesterday, thanks to Adam Hawkins' late goal, while Hakin were beaten at home by Carew.
That result was a major dent in their hopes of playing catch up in the title race, and you have to give credit to The Rooks, their season could easily have petered out after that heavy West Wales Cup semi final defeat. But they have regrouped and responded with three straight league wins.
Hakin must respond at Narberth tomorrow, ahead of a week that may define their title challenge as they face Goodwick and Merlins Bridge in a three day period.
Goodwick meanwhile, have laboured somewhat since that night at The Meadow. The return of Rhys Dalling has added threat, even if he did appear to inevitably tire towards the end against Bridge, but in neither game I watched this week did they play with the efficiency and accuracy we've become accustomed to.
You'd expect them to win tomorrow though against Angle side in desperate form of late. Their 6-0 defeat to Carew Tuesday was a sixth straight league loss, and the last three of those games has seen them concede 29 goals.
And they will now be looking over their shoulders after Scott Reid's goal gave Herbrandston a 1-0 win at West Dragons last night. That win helped Herbie close the gap on them three points, although Oliver West's men will find it tough to back that up tomorrow against a Carew side they lost 7-0 against just six days ago.
I suspect that West and co's main focus is next Tuesday when they host, you guessed it, Angle.
Lamphey and Pennar played out a 2-2 draw on Tuesday, and I expect another tight derby tomorrow when The Stags host Monkton.
The latter lie second and won 3-2 at luckless Milford United on Tuesday, and The Robins host Bridge tomorrow. Adrian Hutchings has pledged to continue playing youngsters with his side all but relegated, and while I expect The Wizards to win, it won't be easy in the midst of an intense fixture period for them.
